LEGALIZATION

Each step, which is made in the right direction will lead you to good results. One of the most important aspects of your stay in Poland is legal residence. The first level of process stage is how to get the Karta Pobytu – it is the document, which approves the individuals’ identity and legal residence in Poland. It gives the chance to move freely within the European Union.
It looks like a standard biometrical document and contains the following personal information:
- Your first and last name;
- The place and the date of your birth;
- Residence permit in Poland;
- Your height, color of your hair and eyes;
- Information about the names of your parents;
- PESEL number
Person should have the reasons to receive a residence permit, which could be one of the followings:
- Entering an educational establishment in Poland. During the educational period you have a right to get a residence permit;
- Establishment of your own business – in this situation the best decision is to register “Sp. Zoo” (company with limited liability), which gives variety of advantages for successful business dealing;
- Employment invitation from work-giver.
There are such types of stay permits in Poland:
- ВНЖ – Temporary residence permit – pl. zezwolenie na Pobyt czasowy;
- ПМЖ – Permanent residence – pl. zezwolenie na Pobyt stały; - Long-term EU residence permit – pl. zezwolenie na Pobyt rezydenta długoterminowego UE.UE).
The person, who receives residence permit (pl. Karta Pobytu) has definite advantages of staying in Poland:
- Advantage of crossing the borders as many times as wanted;
- A possibility to travel without limits within the European Union, as the borders are opened;
- Legal work possibility without any additional permit;
- Real estate and auto purchase, as well as legalization of the proper documents;
- An opportunity to establish own business;
- Receipt of a credit in a bank.

Upon receipt of temporary residence permission in Poland, one gets a Residence permit card (in polish “Karta Pobytu na czas określony”) for a period of one or two years. This document allows temporary employment, business dealing and crossing the borders without extra visas.
After expiration of temporary stay permit in Poland (in total 5 years), it is possible to apply for permanent resident permit (in polish “(zezwolenie na Pobyt rezydenta UE / zezwolenie na Pobyt stały”). This document confirms your legal residence on the territory of Poland and can be remained valid for 5 or 10 years, which is possible to extend after end of the period. With this document the person has equal rights as the citizens of Poland, except the right of voting.
Studying at language courses or at university is the foundation, which gives an opportunity to receive a temporary residence permit. All you need for that is to submit the list of documents, which approves your legal and long term stay in Poland (more than 6 months).
As to the new rules, the student temporary residence allowance is extended for longer term. The first residence permit is the same as it was before, which is 15 months, but it is possible to get the second allowance for 3 years.
Citizenship of Poland:
A foreigner has a right to apply for citizenship of Poland in case, if he has been living legally on the territory of Poland for 8 years (5 years as temporary resident and 3 years as temporary resident). Non-citizens of Poland should provide the proofs of refusal or loss of their current citizenship.
Polish citizenship is provided by the President of the Republic of Poland. Conferment of nationality is originated by the claim of a foreigner. The application form for citizenship of Poland is submitted to Polish President through voivode according to the place of residence. People, who are claiming on receiving of citizenship should justify their submission forms and present an important reason for getting a polish citizenship.
Refusal of polish citizenship cannot be discussed or complained.

- Visa-free movement within European Union;
- The right for legal employment in any of European country;
- The right to get an education on more profitable financial conditions comparing to the citizens, who are not EU-members;
