TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT
A temporary residence permit (in polish “Karta Pobytu na czas określony”) is a residence permit which is issued for one or two years. Applying for a residence permit, you should have the reasons, which confirm your residence in Poland for more than 3 months. Drawing up and receiving the documents take place in Poland in Regional government (in polish Urząd Wojewódzki).
Reasons for submission for a Temporary Residence permit can be the following:
- Polish or english language courses, which took place in Poland for a period of a year;
- studying at the university in Poland;
- registration of private business;
- company purchase;
- legal employment;
- marriage with a citizen of Poland.
After receiving of a document, you have the right to cross the border of Poland as many times as it is possible and convenient for you. It gives you an opportunity to travel visa-free within European Union. Temporary residence permit can be prolonged in case if your stay comes to an end, but if you have enough reasons to proof legal residence in the country.
Temporary residence permit is a middle stage to getting a Permanent residence permit. After 5 years of residence in Poland you can submit the declarasion for getting a Permanent residence permit status.
